TERRARVM CATHOLICVM ET PLANVMM IMMOBILIS (The Catholic land, flat and still - Part 1/4)

ISIDORVS IN NOMINE DOMINE Isidorvs Hispalensis, was born in 560 AD in ancient Hispania in the Iberian Peninsula during the reign of the Visigoths. He served in the last three decades of his life in the Catholic Church, combating the Aryan and Acéphalian heresies, among others, as well as collaborating in the conversion of the Visigothic royal house to Catholicism. He wrote many books, among them: "De fide catholica v Iudaeos" ("From the Catholic faith against the Jews"), where he expands St. Augustine's ideas on the presence of the Jews in Christian societies. He contributed to the Fourth Council of Toledo, where he refers to the Jews: In canon 60 he orders children to be forcibly removed from parents who practice crypto-Judaism to be educated by Christians and in canon 65 prohibits Jews and Christians of Jewish origin from holding public office. Isidoro still wrote at the end of his life a compendium of 20 books, an etymological encyclopaedia called: ETYMOLOGIARVM (Etymology or origin). The etymologies summed up and organized a wealth of knowledge from hundreds of classical sources and especially the Tradition of the Church. He condemns the Roman appointment of the planets to their ancient gods: Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus and Mercury.
